Daria Reviews Landstalker [Genesis] – A Shining Example of Adventure Gaming Done Right

Follow the adventure of renowned treasure hunter, Nigel and his sassy fairy companion Friday as they scour the kingdom of Mercator in search for the lost treasures of King Nole. Developed by Climax Entertainment in 1992 in collaboration with character artist Yoshitaka Tamaki, Land Stalker was originally planned to be the third game in Sega’s first party Shining series. With that idea abandoned, the game was redesigned as it’s own IP.

Gameplay: Landstalker is an action adventure dungeon game with a 2D isometric perspective. The player controls Nigel as he explores dungeons, solves puzzles, performs tricky isometric jumps, hunts down new equipment and health containers and kills fights some bad guys.
